SSM Introduces the New Corporate Registry System (CRS): What Businesses Need to Know

The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) has officially introduced the Corporate Registry System (CRS) as part of its digital transformation initiative. CRS is designed to replace SSM’s legacy platforms with a more integrated and modern online system.

The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) has officially introduced the Corporate Registry System (CRS) as part of its digital transformation initiative. CRS is designed to replace SSM’s legacy platforms with a more integrated and modern online system.

What Has Changed?

1. MyCoID and e-Secretary Have Been Replaced

The previous MyCoID and e-Secretary systems are no longer available. All company incorporation, company information updates, statutory lodgements, and many other corporate services are now processed through CRS, which is accessed via the SSM4U portal.

2. Foreign Directors Face Additional Identity Verification

Under the new CRS workflow, foreign directors are required to complete additional identity verification and provide the necessary identification documents before certain transactions can proceed. This is part of SSM’s effort to strengthen data integrity and security

3. Strike-Off Applications Require an Active SSM4U Account

For directors who wish to initiate a company strike-off application, an active SSM4U account is now required before the process can be carried out through CRS.

4. No More Physical Submission Counters

Most statutory documents that were previously submitted over the counter are now expected to be lodged online through CRS. Physical submission counters are no longer the standard submission method, except for limited services announced by SSM from time to time.

Current Situation (Until 01 August 2026)

Since the rollout of CRS, many company secretaries, corporate service providers, and businesses have experienced delays as the new system stabilises. Processing times may be longer than usual while SSM continues improving the platform.

We understand that many of our clients are waiting for incorporations, statutory filings, and other corporate transactions.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition period. Our team is working continuously to submit all pending applications as soon as the system allows.

Thank you for your continued trust in Malaya Corporate.
